Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>asus (more info?)

I have recently upgraded my cpu to a 3200 400mhz. I bumped my memory
to 400 and the system is stable until I try to run a game.

Halo causes exception errors & has cause a VPU error with the 9800
Flight Sim 2004 black screens & willo not come out of the game

Hmmmm all MS products (can't say anything...these are the only 2 I
have tried)

I have tried the Auto setting for the ram, the aggressive setting, the
optimal setting & setting by SPD. I have tried bumping the voltage up
1 notch (active cooling). Everything runs fine even with all 3 slots
populated if I underclock the ram to 333.

Specs:
A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 Bios 1007
2 512mb chips at 400
3 512mb chips at 333
Generic unfortunately though the chips themselves are Samsung
ATI Radeon 9800 SE running the DNA 4.7 Catalyst (softmod)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
2 120gb drives RAID 0 on a SiL 680
2 120gb drives on the Sil 3112 SATA controller
1 100gb drive on the main ide
1 Creative 16x dvd rom
1 Sony dvd-rw
Thermaltake 480 watt PurePower psu
Thermaltake Xaser III case water cooled
Windows XP Pro SP1

Aside from your obvious lack of hard drive space...

You might want to try setting the memory timings
yourself. You may only need to relax your CAS .5, to
get it working right, this is especially true if your memory is
not matched exactly.

Luck;
Ken
